Membership
Joining IGALA allows you to attend and present at our biannual conference. It also provides you with access to the GALA-L listserv, where colleagues post information and alerts about news and events related to language, gender and sexuality. To post to the list, email your message to gala-l@listserv.linguistlist.org.
IGALA membership runs yearly, and also provides you with a subscription to the Gender and Language journal.
Membership runs on a calendar year but, at whatever point you join, you will be sent any back issues of the journal that have already been published that year. Your subscription will complete with the publication of issue 3 of that year's volume, regardless of when you join.
How to join
You become a member of IGALA by subscribing to the Gender and Language journal through Equinox: click here for payment information for new subscribers and to renew your membership. Society membership runs on a calendar year from January to December.
In order to keep clear records of your membership, and to maintain a continuous, unbroken subscription, Equinox ask that you renew for the next year from the beginning of November when they send out renewal reminders one and two month before expiry. If you take out a subscription before November, your payment will be applied to the current year's membership, unless you already have a subscription.
